All entries accepted after 1st September 2016 and before 1st September  2017 will be considered for all six categories by specialist judges.  Prizewinners will be notified by 10th October 2017 and their prize vouchers will be posted to them with Roger Parsons catalogues.

Entry guidelines:

There is no entry fee.  Every entry that shows a recognisable instance of a Sweet Pea (Lathyrus odoratus) or other Lathyrus plant or flower will be accepted and acknowledged within seven days of receipt. So long as not submitted to us in earlier years, entries will be eligible regardless of age.


Entries must either be in electronic form, or else sent as photographic prints. Each electronic entry should be a file in a JPEG format (usually a .jpg file), no bigger than 10 MB, attached to an e-mail.  If greater than 720 pixels wide or 540 pixels high it will be reduced in size without change of aspect ratio.and then published on this web-site (

Prints must be no larger than A4 size.  They will be scanned here and then posted back to you in your original packaging.  The same display size limits.will be applied to all entries.

We need a note of your name and address, and we like to have a title or caption and your comments about each photo or its subject.  Our Judges are free to take your captions and comments into account. Please use our entry form,  which gives our addresses.


You will retain copyright in your entries, but submitting an entry will be interpreted as a declaration that you are the copyright holder and as such will allow publication without charge on this web-site and also in the Annual of the National Sweet Pea Society if requested by its Editor.

Please be aware that we can’t make it impossible for Internet viewers to infringe your copyright, neither have we any means of assisting you to obtain compensation for infringement.
